The hotel is situated in 2 historical houses built in around 1870 and designed by the famous Dutch architect P. J. H. Cuypers, who also designed Amsterdam's central station and the Rijksmuseum (national museum). It is charmingly decorated and centrally located in the vicinity of the city centre. Art-lovers can reach the Stedelijk Museum of modern art, the Van Gogh Museum and the Anne Frank House for around 20 minutes on foot.
