Located on Monte Amiata at an altitude of 4, 593 feet, within one of Europe's largest beech forests, Albergo Le Macinaie offers a unique mountain retreat. This family-run hotel sits directly opposite the ski slopes and features an on-site restaurant. Originally a mill, the hotel was fully renovated in 1999, retaining its traditional mountain design. Guests can enjoy a children's game room equipped with a Wii, a wellness area with a sauna, hot tub, and gym, and a restaurant serving Tuscan specialties, including homemade pasta and desserts, complemented by a selection of certified wines and olive oil. The breakfast buffet offers freshly baked cakes and bread, cheeses, and fresh fruit. Rooms feature LCD TVs with digital and satellite channels and private bathrooms. Free Wi-Fi is available throughout the hotel. The staff can organize excursions and provide maps for cycling and trekking paths around Castel Del Piano.
