The Schiavo family, a historic family of hoteliers, boasts the privilege of knowing and hosting famous people. The guest book of the Hotel Toro includes important signatures: the Norwegian musician Edvard Grieg, a guest at the dawn of the 20th century; the Dutch painter M. C. Escher, who, starting in 1923, stayed several times, meeting, in the enchanting garden of the Hotel, his future wife, the young Swiss Jetta Umiker. And then, the Venetian painter Emilio Vedova, the art critic Pietro Toesca. In more recent times, the famous Belgian musician Maria Paola Cantarella has stayed frequently. Since 2023, the Hotel has been managed by the Cioffi brothers.
