About Hafnia
In the mid-20th century, Christian Restorff began construction on a new hotel in Tórshavn. Opened in 1951 and named Hafnia, the hotel underwent significant expansion in the following decades, becoming the largest in the Faroe Islands. In 1988, Christian's sons, Johan and Martin, took over, with Johan as director. Continuing their father's legacy of excellent service, they renovated and modernized the hotel to meet international standards. New ownership arrived in 2005 with Osmund Justinussen and his sons, Tummas and Gunnar, along with Per Sævik from Norway. In 2018, Smyril Line acquired the hotel, and on July 1, 2020, they opened the stylish, new four-star Hotel Brandan Conference Center. At Hotel Hafnia, our 24/7 reception ensures guests are always welcomed. Our skilled chefs create fresh, innovative dishes daily in our restaurant. We also host parties and dinners in our event rooms. Café Kaspar provides quality coffee, drinks, and light meals in a modern yet cozy atmosphere. Take-away is available from both the café and Restaurant Hafnia.
