About Villa Campestri Olive Oil Resort
Located 35km north of Florence, this splendid Renaissance house enjoys a breathtaking hillside setting 450m above sea level, overlooking the Mugello valley and Chianti Rufina hills. Carefully restored using authentic materials, the hotel retains its original charm. Guest rooms, elegantly appointed with 19th-century light fittings, paintings, and prints, are situated within the main villa, the adjacent farmhouse, and the former dairy house, each offering stunning views of the surrounding parkland. Guests can enjoy an outdoor swimming pool, along with cookery and extra-virgin olive oil tasting courses. Driving from the north (Bologna/Milan), take the A1 Autostrada towards Bologna-Firenze. Approximately 60km after Bologna, exit at Barberino di Mugello (before Florence). Turn left at the first junction towards Borgo San Lorenzo. You'll pass a lake and a dike. One kilometer after the dike, Cafaggiolo Castle will be on your right. At the next junction, keep right until you reach a roundabout. Take the second exit signposted Faentina, Borgo San Lorenzo. After the tunnel, follow signs for Via Faentina. At the next roundabout, keep right until you reach the intersection with Firenze-Via Faentina (on the right) and Borgo San Lorenzo (on the left). Turn left towards Borgo San Lorenzo and Vicchio. Turn right at the signpost for Sagginale, Vicchio. Pass through Sagginale and after 2km turn right, following signs for Cistio, Campestri, Arliano. Keep right through Cistio and Lastricata. The hotel gate will be a few hundred meters further on.
