About Akzent Hotel Schranne
Our hotel is located within the medieval town wall near all significant sights and not far from bikeways and hiking paths. By the central yet quiet location your stay will be quiet and restful. When it comes to wine and dine, take a seat in our comfortable restaurant and enjoy Bavarian and Franconian specialities created by our chefs from local products, such as venison from local hunters or meat from farms in the vicinity of Rothenburg, made into sausages in our own butchery. Due to the purchase of regional and seasonal products whenever possible our menu invites you to enjoy a variety of fresh specialities such as Franconian asparagus or carp, not to forget local wine and beer. Our breakfast buffet offfers honey and jam from the Tauber valley or home-made cold cuts. Weather permitting, have a refreshment outside on the sunny terrace or in our shady beer garden. The name „Schranne“ derives from old-high-German „scranna“ meaning „barn“. Not far from the hotel you can find a huge building which served as deposit for grain in the Middle Ages. The square in front of the hotel is named after this historical sight. The main building of the hotel was built in the 17th century by a noble family and transformed into a hotel by the owner's grandparents in 1960. Since then the three generations of the Meinold family have permanently invested, restored and modernized the hotel and restaurant now offering 46 classified hotel rooms, 5 restaurant rooms for individuals and groups, a beer garden and outside dining as well as private parking to guarantee the safety and comfort of our guests.
